Charity donation raised by seed sales
The Gamekeepers’ Welfare Trust (GWT) has received a generous donation thanks to Kings seed sales.
The cheque for £1256 was presented to Helen Benson, GWT’s chief operating officer on Friday 29th July at The Game Fair at Hatfield House, Hertfordshire. The sum was raised through sales of Kings’ Winter Wildlife Holding Cover, one of Kings’ most popular products, with £1 donated for every bag sold.
"We have a long and valued relationship with Kings and it is a special privilege to be supported so royally in our 25th anniversary year,” said Helen Benson, GWT’s chief operating officer. “These funds make a real and practical difference to our families. Thank you very much."
Handing over the cheque, Kings sales manager, Richard Barnes announced that the £1 per bag donation will be repeated in 2018.
“We work closely with keepers across the UK and we know that the GWT’s work is so valuable to the gamekeeping community,” states Richard. “We’ve supported the charity in various ways over the years and are delighted to be able to donate this cheque. We look forward to working together again over the next twelve months and beyond.”
The GWT provides a helpline and confidential listening service with information and support on a wide variety of topics including health, retirement, redundancy, housing and employment issues.
The charity marked its 25th anniversary year with a series of ‘Gamekeeping for Life’ conferences in spring which Kings also supported.
“The spring events showcased the fantastic advice and support offered by the GWT team and we hope that this donation will enable them to help even more of those in need,” Richard concluded.
